Clipstack: Clipboard History · Last updated 20 October 2026

In short: Clipstack does not collect any data. Your clipboard history is stored on your Mac and, only if you turn it on, in your own private iCloud account. The developer never receives or sees it.

What Clipstack stores

To provide a clipboard history, Clipstack saves the items you copy (text, rich text, links, colors, images and file references), along with the name of the app each item was copied from and when it was copied. This history is stored locally in the app’s container on your Mac.

Clipstack does not save items that apps mark as concealed or transient (for example passwords copied from password managers), and it never records anything copied from apps you add to Settings › Ignored Apps. You can pause recording at any time from the menu bar.

iCloud sync (optional)

iCloud sync is off until you turn it on. When it is on, your history, pinned items and app settings are stored in your private iCloud database using Apple’s CloudKit and iCloud key-value storage, under the Apple Account your Mac is signed in to. This data is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. The developer cannot access your private iCloud data.

What Clipstack does not do

Permissions

Accessibility: used only to paste the item you choose into the app you are working in. Clipstack does not read or record your keystrokes or screen.

Deleting your data

Delete individual items in the clipboard panel, or choose Clear History… from the menu bar or Settings › Storage. With sync on, deletions also remove the items from iCloud. Uninstalling Clipstack removes its local data. You can also manage iCloud data in System Settings › Apple Account › iCloud.

Children

Clipstack does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
